SUMMARY:National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) 2025
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE! \nNational Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is the premier youth leadership development course for Scouting America within the Longhorn Council. NYLT integrates the best of modern leadership theory with the traditional strengths of the Scouting experience. Through a wide range of activities\, NYLT participants will get the skills and confidence to lead well as they put into action the best that Scouting has to offer. \n \nParticipant Requirements:\nIf you are attending as a participant\, you must: \n\nMust be a registered member of a Scouting unit.\nMust have a current Scouting America Annual Health and Medical Record form parts A\, B\, and C.\nScouts BSA members must be 13 years of age and fall within the maximum age allowance for their program registration. They must be ranked a First Class Scout or higher and have completed Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops.\nVenturers and Sea Scouts must be at least 14\, or 13 and have completed eighth grade\, and fall within the maximum age allowance for their program. They must have completed Introduction to Leadership Skills for Crews or Ships. It is recommended that they have had at least one year of camping experience. While NYLT is not an outdoor skills course\, it is important that each participant has basic camping and outdoor cooking experience.\nA unit leader recommendation.\n\nImportant Note: A maximum of 5 Scouts from the same unit may attend the same NYLT course.  In the case when a Scout is dual registered (in both a Scouts BSA Troop and in a Venture Crew or Ship)\, the primary registration will be considered. \n \nJoin our NYLT Staff: \n\nNYLT youth staff application\nNYLT adult staff application\nNYLT scholarship request\n\nCourse Details:\nNYLT 233: Winter Course\nSid Richardson Scout Ranch\nDecember 26-31\, 2025\nCourse Director: Kyle deBlonk
