SUMMARY:Earth Month 2026
DESCRIPTION:This April\, Longhorn Council\, Scouting America is proud to launch our First Annual Earth Month Celebration\, a month-long commitment to conservation\, service\, and stewardship. Instead of focusing on a single Earth Day\, we are inviting our Scouts\, Volunteer Leaders\, parents\, and supporters to dedicate the entire month of April to making a lasting impact in the communities we serve. \nOur goal is bold: 20\,000 logged Community Service hours in one month. Together\, we can protect natural spaces\, restore local environments\, and demonstrate the power of Scouting through meaningful action. \nThroughout April\, units and families are encouraged to participate in conservation projects such as park cleanups\, waterway restoration\, recycling drives\, habitat improvement\, and other environmental initiatives that strengthen our communities and protect our planet for future generations. \nTo amplify our impact\, Scouts are also encouraged to participate in at least one of the following conservation initiatives: \n\nScouting for Clean Waterways – Protecting rivers\, lakes\, and streams through cleanup and pollution prevention.\nPlastic Tide Turners Challenge (World Scouting) – Raising awareness and taking action to reduce plastic pollution worldwide.\nScouts Trash the Trash Day – A global cleanup event taking place on May 2\, 2026\, uniting Scouts in a powerful\, visible day of service. (Yes\, we know it’s in May\, but it’s so close to April)\n\nEarth Month is more than a project; it is a movement. It is our chance to show leadership\, live the Scout Oath and Law\, and leave our world better than we found it. Join us this April as we serve with purpose\, protect our planet\, and make history with Longhorn Council’s first Earth Month. \nInstructions for logging Service Hours: https://help.scoutbook.scouting.org/knowledge-base/activitylogs/ \nThis event is supported by Longhorn Council’s Outdoor Ethics and International Scouting Committes
